At Moana Medial Centre, we make every effort to provide our patients with the highest quality medical care.  Our fees reflect the time and care we take to provide a dedicated service for you and your family. The doctors at Moana Medical Centre will strive to get to the bottom of your health concerns, spending more time with you where necessary, which means fewer visits to your doctor in the long run.

For us to continue providing this level of care, it is necessary for our patients to incur an out of pocket cost.  Unfortunately, the Medicare rebate has been insufficient to cover the ongoing increase in running costs, wages and equipment for many years.  With insufficient annual indexing, the freezing of Medicare rebates from 2014-2018, and many of the increases well below CPI, the rebate now covers less than half the costs incurred in running a practice. Please contact your Federal MP to discuss your concerns regarding your Medicare rebate.

Fees from 1st July 2026

We will continue to direct bill Medicare the following:

• Children aged 12 years old and under
• GPCCMPs (GP chronic disease management plans)
• Health assessments (e.g. 40-49 years old , 45-49years old, >75 years old)

Children 12 and under will be direct billed to Medicare (no out of pocket cost).

If you are attending with your newborn baby, please apply early for your new Medicare card. Consultations attended without a valid Medicare card may require the rebate consultation fee to be paid on the day of consultation. You may then claim your rebate via Medicare, once you have your valid Medicare card.

With the use of our EFTPOS machines, your Medicare rebate can be deposited into your chosen savings or cheque account, in real time on the day.
